Akullu Research & Learning was born from a truth we could no longer ignore: traditional research has too often extracted from communities instead of serving them. We exist to reclaim research as a practice of healing, accountability, and transformation, especially for Black, Indigenous, and historically oppressed communities.
Rooted in The Griot Framework™, our approach treats research as sacred work, a shared act of remembering, protecting, and transforming knowledge. Every project is ceremony: we listen deeply, honor boundaries, and hold stories with the care they deserve.
Through our consulting, workshops, creative offerings, and healing circles, we walk alongside communities and organizations ready to do research differently , to see data as story, story as power, and power as a tool for liberation.
